Kenley Perry, New Executive Director

The Frank Foundation is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kenley Perry as the next executive director of Camp Kawanbee, starting September 16, 2024.

Over the last several months, we have gotten to know what makes Kenley special. Kenley is experienced, having served in full-time leadership at a camp for nearly 18 years and at a school for an additional 10 years. Kenley is kind, carrying himself with both confidence and humility. Kenley is dedicated, showing a commitment to the traditions, history and mission of Kawanhee.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Kawanhee family,” Kenley says. “I have spent the past 28 years working with kids in a variety of camp and school settings, but what drew me to Kawanhee were its timeless values, embodied in the mottos “fun with a purpose,” “learn to do by doing,” and “freedom within a framework.” I look forward to carrying on Kawanhee’s traditions with the help of its incredible community. I couldn’t be more excited.”

Kawanhee welcomes Kenley during a time of strength. After 18 years of leadership, Mark and Liz Standen retire as executive directors with the camp financially secure and spiritually strong. However, the Standens are not finished giving to Kawanhee – they have offered to ensure a smooth transition as Kenley prepares for the 2025 camp season.
