For the past 28 years Pete Belskis has headed up the Baseball & Softball department. During activity periods campers gain instruction in all aspects of the game from offence to defense as well as the history of the game. All campers regardless of ability have the opportunity to participate and often leave camp having a new love for the game.

The department truly comes to life with the inner camp baseball & softball leagues. Each boy makes a team and games are play after dinner during free time. Every team make the end of the season playoffs, and by the end of camp a new champion is chosen.

A Baseball All-Star team is also selected every summer and travels to other camps to compete at an even higher level. It is a great honor to be selected to this team and Kawanhee has a history of doing very well at these competitions.
